The 9th Asian-Pacific International Symposium of Micro-Separation(APCE2009) and 1st Asian-Pacific International Symposium of Chip-on-Lab(APLOC2009) were held in Shanghai. The two symposia were held simultaneously at the Zhangjiang Campus of the Fudan University in Shanghai from 29th to 31st of October.
The symposia were sponsored by Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and co-sponsored by the School of Pharmacy of Fudan University and the National Center for Drug Screening.
About 200 participants from 17 countries and regions of the world attended the symposia. 34 oral sessions were organized, and 167 paper abstracts were collected in the proceedings. Awards for 10 “Excellent Posters” were granted.
During the symposia, “Exchange Meetings among Editors-Writers-Readers” were convened for the three main journals of Lab on Chip, Electrophoresis and Biomicrofluidics. Topic lectures were delivered by the editors-in-chief of the three journals respectively, and active discussions were carried out among the attendants of the meetings.
