SFIUG Hold 2009 Autumn Workshop in Yangzhou

The 2009 autumn workshop was held by SFIUG (star formation in the universe group) and its international collaboration group in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province Nov. 1st to Nov. 4th 2009.

Eleven astronomers including Ji Yang from Purple Mountain Observatory (PMO) and three foreign astronomers from Harvard-Smithsonian Centre for Astrophysics (CfA) attended the workshop.

The development of the Antarctic astronomy station is the gist of this workshop. During this workshop several topics were discussed, including the Chinese Antarctic centre, the R&D of the Fourier transform spectrometer (FTS), and the Phase A study project of the 5m THz telescope. The science goals of Antarctic THz project were also discussed.

This workshop is important in the development and  construction of the Antarctic science project.
