CAS Vice President Li Jinghai held talks with the visiting Pakistani Minister of Science and Technology Mr. Ch. Nouraiz Shakoor Khan on Dec. 15 in Beijing.
The two sides exchanged views on issues concerning the communications among young scholars, joint academic meetings and cooperative research between the two countries.
While paying attention to exchanges with developed countries, Prof. Li said, CAS maintains close the cooperative relations with the developing countries. For instance, a research fund has been set up at the CAS Graduate School for students from those countries.
The two sides were pleased to see the research progress scored in the field of halophytes between scientists from the Center for Agricultural Resources Research under the CAS Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology and Karachi University in Pakistan.
