Cell Research Becomes Top Life Science Journal in Asia Pacific Region: Local Scientists

Cell Research, a Shanghai-based English monthly journal, has become the top life science journal in Asia Pacific Region, local scientists announced today.

Its latest impact factor was 14.812, growing from 3.426 from about a decade ago. It was listed among the top 2.5 percent of all science journals in the field of biochemistry, molecular and cell biology in the world, said experts from Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology of Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the home institution of the journal.

"The purpose of making this journal is to offer an international platform for scientists home and abroad to show their achievements and advance the development of Chinese scientific research,” said Li Dangsheng, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Cell Research. “The rapid development of our journal is in line with growth of Chinese science in the past years."
