A draft of China's first Astronautical Law is expected to be finished by the end of this year. The law was spurred by intentions to implement multiple space missions during the 13th Five-Year Plan period. It will fill the gap in Chinese legal regulations dealing with space.

"After the law is completed, we would have a regulation system. Thus the policy rules and documents of all departments would be more in order. And with the Astronautical Law, the policies would be more coordinated and effective," said Tian Yulong, secretary general of China National Space Adminstration.

The Astronautical Law will have taken four years to establish. China will also issue a white paper on "China's Space Flight" this year. This release of various policies, rules and regulations would provide guarantees and support for the development of China's Aerospace industry.
