The prospects of a joint project on remote sensing of the earth were discussed in Minsk today. A delegation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is paying an official visit to Belarus these days. Also, the two countries are ready to interact in nano- and bio-technologies, as well as in fundamental research in natural sciences.

The Chinese delegation got acquainted with the achievements of Belarusian scientists in laser technologies, the creation of new materials, and engineering.

Over the past five years, the Academies of Sciences of the two countries have conducted over 20 joint projects, including inter-regional projects with different provinces of China. In 2017, China financed Belarusian scientific and educational projects to the tune of 9 million dollars. Belarusian scientists are involved in the implementation of contracts ordered by the Chinese side in microwave electronics, radars, and production of building materials.

The visit of the Chinese delegation continues. In the coming days, the head of the Academy of Sciences will visit a number of scientific institutes, the Great Stone industrial park, and will also get acquainted with Belarusian historical heritage - the Nesvizh Castle Complex.
