A forum for the CAS winners of the honor is held at CAS headquarters on April 29.
Nine CAS researchers are among nearly 3,000 national labor heroes and advanced workers named by the Chinese government in 2005.
The nine winners are: Chen Xi from the CAS Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Gong Zhibeng from the CAS Hefei Institutes of Physical Sciences, Huang Hongwen from the CAS Wuhan Botanical Garden, Jiang Xikui from the CAS Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Ma Jiaguang from the CAS Institute of Optics and Electronics, Ouyang Ziyuan from the CAS Institute of Geochemistry, Wang Erkang from the CAS Changchun Institute of Applied Ecology, Yi Hejun from the CAS Institute of Electronics and Zhang Jie from the CAS Institute of Physics.
The national labor heroes and advanced workers are selected from all social strata across the country for their lofty contributions in pushing forward social advancement and building.
