Jul 20, 2015

A postdoctoral position is immediately available at the laboratory of Prof. TANG Chun at Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics (WIPM) of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Prof. TANG Chun is the Director of the Key Laboratory of Magnetic Resonance in Biological Systems of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Si-Yuan Professor of Zhejiang University, International Early Career Scientist of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), Chief Scientist of Major National Science Research Project.

Prof. TANG Chun’s laboratory is equipped with state-of-art biophysical and analytical instruments (including confocal microscopy equipped with pulsed pico-second laser for single-molecule analysis, small-angle X-ray scattering, and isothermal calorimetry), and has on-site access to 850 MHz, 800 MHz, 700 MHz, and four 600 MHz NMR spectrometers.

Prof. Chun Tang's group uses NMR, biophysical, and computational techniques to investigate how proteins and other macromolecules alternate their structures, to unravel the mechanisms for protein functions, and to develop novel compounds for modulating protein structure and functions. Recent work was published in ELife and Angew Chem Int Ed.

The successful candidate should be motivated and interested in solving biological problems with quantitative approaches. A doctorate in biophysics, biochemistry or related fields is required, and research experience is desired. The base annual salary is 120,000 RMB plus benefits and additional performance-based bonus.

Application Process: Please send the curriculum vitae, names and contact information of two references, 300-words research plan to tanglab@wipm.ac.cn.
