Faculty Positions at Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences

The Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology (SIPPE) is an internationally recognized national research institution engaged in original, innovative research and technology development in plant, insect and microbial system(http://www.sippe.ac.cn/eindex.asp). We are seeking highly motivated and innovative candidates with strong records of research accomplishments for group leader and supporting principal investigator positions. Candidates who conduct cutting-edge research in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:  

Area 1: Plant genetics, genomics, cell biology and developmental biology
Area 2: Insect developmental and evolutionary biology
Area 3: Metabolomics and synthetic biology
Area 4: Plant–Microbe–Insect (PMI) interactions
Area 5: Crop breeding and genetic improvements 

The successful applicants for group leaders will establish a vigorous research team that includes graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and research staff. Supporting principal investigators will establish an active research program as well as run a core facility in genomics or metabolomics. SIPPE will provide competitive start-up packages for new faculty members including set-up funds, annual laboratory operating funds, and research staff members at various levels. Attractive salary and housing supplements will also be provided by SIPPE.  

Candidates must hold a PhD degree, have significant research experience at a major research university or institution, and have demonstrated outstanding achievements in their research field.
