Multiple Positions Open for Scientific Editors at the Journal Office of Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics

Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics (GPB), an international journal published by Elsevier, is currently seeking Scientific Editors (2 positions are immediately available) to join its editorial team. The goal of GPB is to publish high-quality discoveries from scientists around the globe in a fast pace. Featured areas and particular interests of GPB are large-scale data and analysis based on high-throughput sequencing technologies with a particular focus on information integration across the field of genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics.

The Scientific Editor is expected to play key roles in all aspects of manuscript processing, including but not limited to the responsibilities listed below:

Responsibilities: 

1. Interacting with leading scientists in the related fields, inviting submissions or assisting in organization of special issues;

2. Being fully involved in editorial processes, including technical check, manuscript evaluation and overseeing peer-review;

3. Writing scientific news and preparing marketing materials;

4. Performing basic language check for accepted manuscripts;

5. Maintaining efficient communication with reviewers, editors, authors, and readers.

Requirements: 

1. Ph.D. degree in genomics (or other omics), bioinformatics, molecular genetics, or other closely related fields. At least one first-authored (or corresponding authored) publication in an international (English) journal is required. Experiences in active research are desirable.

2. Professional English writing, communication and computer skills;

3. Broad scientific interests, ability to critically think, and dedication in scientific editing;

4. Highly self-motivated, creative and open-minded, strong sense of responsibility, collaboration, and independence.

The journal office is affiliated with Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (BIG) and a competitive salary package will be offered according to the policy of BIG, CAS.
