Organic Functional Materials based on nonbonding interactions

Abstract

Molecular materials with special optical, electrical and magnetic properties and optic-electric devices based on such materials have been a hot topic in recent years. And Organic Electronics is a growing industry based on the development of these research works. In this research area, developing of new functional molecular systems, exploring the structure-property relationship, and studying the physical processes in these materials have been the most fundamental and important subjects. In this project, Prof. Daoben Zhu explored the influences of molecular structures, nonbonding interactions on the electrical transport and optical properties of molecular materials, and studied how to adjust the stability and transport properties by tuning the energy level and reorganization energy of molecules. He also studied the interface problem in relation to the efficient injecting of charge carriers. A series of molecular materials with excellent optical and electrical properties have been developed in this project.
