WANG Enge

Dr. WANG Enge, a Chinese physicist, was born in 1957 in northeast China’s Liaoning Province. He is now Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). His research focuses on condensed-matter physics. 

WANG received his PhD of physics from Peking University in 1990. After five years of research at Institut d'Electronique, de Microelectronique de Nanotechnologie (France) and University of Houston (USA), he got a professor’s position at the Institute of Physics, CAS in 1995.  

He was the director of the Institute of Physics, CAS from 1999 to 2007, and the founding director of the International Center for Quantum Structure, CAS from 2000 to 2001. He worked as President of Peking University from 2013 to 2015.  

Dr. WANG was elected Member of CAS in 2007 and Fellow of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS) in 2008. He is also fellow of the American Physical Society (APS) and the Institute of Physics (IOP), UK.
