3D micro-nano-fabrication for functional nano-composites Images of scanning electron microscopy (left) and fluorescence microscopy of a 3D micro-bull (up) and a 3D microlizard (down) fabricated from resin A (centre, without cross linker) and resin F (right, with 48.55% cross linker).
The Ultra-thin Fabrication System in Nanophotonics was successfully set up by Prof. DUAN Xuanming’s group in the Key Laboratory of Photochemical Transformation and Optoelectronic Functional Materials, the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry (IPC). As reported by Advanced Materials [Sun et al., 2008, 25(4): 914-919], with the technique they developed, the researchers can fabricate fluorescent bull and lizard sculptures less than red blood cells. The tiny creatures luminescence in either green or blue. The paper was ranked the first in the download list of Advanced Materials in February. A research highlight titled as Lithography: Luminous Lizards was published on February 21st, 2008 in Nature [2008.451,868]. |
