Alien Species A Growing Menace in China: Experts [ 14.05.12 ]
Alien species of plants and animals will become an increasing menace over the next decade due to the rapid development of the world economy and a lack of awareness of proper prevention measures, experts have warned. China, one of the countries most affected, has confirmed more than 520 varieties of alien species, including 268 plants, 198 animals, and microorganisms.
 
China Launches New Remote-Sensing Satellite [ 11.05.12 ]
China successfully launched the remote-sensing satellite Yaogan XIIII Thursday from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in the northern province of Shanxi, according to a press release from the center. The satellite was carried into space aboard a Long March 4B carrier rocket which blasted off at 3:06 p.m. Beijing time, according to the center.
 
Chinese Internet Users to Hit 800 mln by 2015 [ 09.05.12 ]
China aims to make its Internet services accessible to more people in the coming years and bring its total number of Internet users to 800 million by 2015, according to a national development plan. The number, which accounts for around 57 percent of the total population, includes 200 million netizens in rural areas.
 
China Launches New Mapping Satellite [ 07.05.12 ]
China successfully launched its Tianhui I-02 mapping satellite from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China's Gansu province at 3:10 p.m. Sunday. The satellite, which was launched using a Long March 2-D carrier rocket, has entered its preset orbit. Another similar satellite, the Tianhui I, was launched into space in August 2010.
 
Pollution In China To Increase, Says Chinese Study [ 02.05.12 ]
According to a study published in the International Journal of Global Energy Issues, economist Yanqing Xia of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics and the Northeast Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Liaoning predicts that emissions and efficiency will stay far below capital growth on the Chinese agenda.
