Main functions: to assist the CAS Academic Divisions in providing advisory and appraisal services on issues stemming from the national economy, social development and S&T progress; to help CAS members carryout appraisal, as well as consultative and academic exchange activities regarding science and technology; and to make preparations for the CAS General Assembly, Presidium conferences and plenary sessions of its Executive Committees as well as other meetings of CAS members. In light of decisions made by the General Assembly, Presidium and its Executive Committee and Standing Committees of the Academic Divisions, the Office of Academic Divisions develops and ensures compliance with annual working plans for the Academic Divisions. It organizes elections of CAS members, acts as a liaison and offers services to CAS members, conducts surveys and investigations, and issues circulars.
